Although from the photos this could seem as straight forward and simple installation, it turned out to be a little more challednging. The orgininal installation was using recessed fluorescent fittings that measured 1500mm x 300mm, which is an unusal measurement to match. As the ceiling was plasterboard, once we removed the fittings, we were faced with the task of souring an LED fitting that matched the exact same dimensions as the original fittings otherwise there would be huge gaps around the new fittings that would require a lot of decoration works.
To make sure and to be certain that we were installing the correct fitting, we suggest a test installation of one fitting before ordering the remaining 19 LED light fittings. The sourcing process took over 5 weeks as Green Electrical worked with City Electrical Factors by contacting various lighting manufactures to find an LED fitting that matched our exact specification.
We eventually found out a LED fitting from JCC lighting called 'The LED skytile' that came with 7 year warranty, in line with our product criteria of sourcing only top quality and proven products.
The lighting installation took 2 days to complete with the removal and disconnection of the existing fluorescent fittings, arranging for the old fittings to be correctly disposed and recycled and finally, the installation of the new LED fittings. Overall we are absolutely delighted with this installation as it looks modern and helps to reduce the community centre's carbon footprint.
